Apple Store Michigan Ave.
Sometimes the universe just gives you gold and when it does you have to go with it. Apple reached out to have me speak at their Michigan Ave. Flagship as part of their ongoing Artist Talks. I've never had such an amazing initial call. After we finished the initial chat, they called me back and asked if I had another 10-15 minutes. They told me they could create something on the Pioneer Court Plaza a couple of times a year and wanted to know if I'd be interested. Huge participatory art right in the heart of downtown Chicago? Of course I was interested. I originally pitched a giant pixelated retro Apple Logo with we all live here written across in the original Mac font called Chicago. I didn't get to use the logo but I did get to use the font. The activity was such a huge success that it caught the eye of Angela Ahrendts, Apple's Head of Retail and former CEO of Burberry and she tweeted about it. Always take the gold when the Universe offers it.
